Week 5: Lifespan development & Motivation and Emotion
Week 5...
We are officially more than halfway through the course! Time does fly. As you complete the readings, consider and review research methods for these chapters. How could we research babies and how they learn? The motivation of adolescents to leave home? Or not... How would you research these topics?
In addition, review your own development. What stage did you remember as being most turbulent? Why? If you have children, consider the same question. Development is fascinating because we all have certain phases in common, but we are also different in elements.
Motivation and emotion are also integral to our understanding of being human. Consider though, are we the only mammals to experience both? What other examples have you seen? There is much information in these chapters, so apply to what you already know for more depth of learning.
As you read, begin collecting ideas for a possible research plan. The Week5: Research Plan (Simplified and modified) will ask you to apply your understanding of both the chapter topics and psychology research overall. Please make sure to select a topic you are interested in, as that will energize your creation.
