Welcome to Psychology! As always, I am excited to engage with you and the subject. These two chapters are the foundation for the rest of the course. It is imperative that you integrate the basics of research into your thinking; this is not about memorization, but skills you will use in all subtopics of psychology.

Weeks one and two...and we are jumping right into the intriguing processes of the mind. The discussion for this week will focus on introducing yourself to the class and also communicating how you believe psychology fits into your academic path and your personal life.

Throughout the course, we will take on the challenge of psychology. I use mostly writing assessments to support your learning. With the prompts, reading and understanding each is imperative to show your learning. These writing pieces prove your understanding and communication of that understanding. I want your thoughts and writing....a skill that is most important in learning.

In addition, APA formatting is the standard for psychology. Each paper you are assigned must be formatted with APA and include references, including the textbook. Our textbook is of our sources and needs to be credited as a source you used. Please create a template formatted according to APA and include the textbook as a reference.

Directions for Textbook:

Read quickly each section of the chapters One and Two. This will give you an overview of the topics and a general sense of psychology overall.
Please reread Chapter Two and take notes over the research methods. This information is foundational for the rest of the course.

Using the knowledge you have gained with the reading, the week's project will ask you to apply your knowledge gained.
