OK, here we go with our first slides...

You should have your topic in hand... Take some time googling your topic. Read a couple news stories on where it came from and where it is at today. for example is it tied up in Congress? Is it a dormant situation right now? Is it sitting at the White House waiting for direction from the President? These are things to think about - we will have an assignment that asks you to give some more context or the "setting" of your topic.

For this assignment consider what the public (the people of the U.S. ) think about this topic you chose...  You can look up your own sites? try to look at two - a newspaper or a report on public opinion on that issue.

Here is also a site that might have information about public opinion on your topic. https://www.pewresearch.org/topics/ Links to an external site.

Now who is the public? It's not the politicians... It's not the people who are trying to sell climate change.. Think about a concert or a sporting event... the spectators are the public....

I want to know the following:

Who is mostly responding on this topic (elderly, 20s, or 50s?? Why are people responding the way they are?? Some will like it some will not.

What are the typical general responses to the topic? Make use a couple quotes to illustrate your public's thoughts.

How does the public response to the topic affect the topic? Has it led to any change? (Does the President change direction if Veterans are upset over the Afghanistan situation)?

Be sure to include citations and possibly any chart or picture....

USE POWERPOINT TO SUBMIT.. you can upload it. SAVE IT SAVE IT SAVE IT TO YOUR FILES FOR YOU TO ADD LATER TO THE BIG PPT.
